MTU Turbomeca Rolls-Royce GmbH (MTR), registered in Germany, was founded in June 1989. It is the programme management company responsible for the turboshaft engine MTR390-2C (Basic engine) and is jointly staffed by the partner companies.

The MTR office in Munich is the management centre of the programme, responsible for direction and coordination of all development, production and support activities for the MTR390 engine.

Accordingly, MTR is the responsible contractual party vis-à-vis the Franco/German Government agencies. Functional groups formed by members from each partner company cover operational activities.

Furthermore, MTR is responsible for marketing and sales of the engine for other military and civil applications.
