Optodyne, Inc.

Optodyne, Inc. has a rich history starting with our founder and Caltech scientist, Dr. Charles Wang.  Dr. Wang spent years working on advanced and high power lasers, pointing and tracking and on President Reagan’s Star War Program before founding Optodyne, Inc. in 1986.

Dr. Wang became familiar with conventional Michelson interferometers to make accurate measurements and other applications. Using this extensive knowledge base of lasers and interferometers, Dr. Wang invented the Laser Doppler Displacement Meter (LDDM), making it easier to use and dramatically reducing the physical size of laser optic measurement systems.
